We used to perform the rock balance ceremony at Qew beach, but we are no longer permitted by the local government. Can you believe bylaws forbid artists to perform by the lake?
Lets put canada on the tourist map for stone balancing!!!
We have completed international documentaries, several radio and print media interviews in canada and the u.s. in which we asked people to come to Qew beach Toronto. We were voted top 10 tourist attractions in torontos east end by a t.o. magazine. There are businesses named after stone balancing with stone balances for logos. So, one could argue that we actually help the economy where we work the stones. We were able to work for so long(10 years or so)without being confronted because of certain cool individuals who ignored us and so allowed us to bend reality with stones. Unfortunately as we hire "suitable"people to think only in terms of good or bad and pressure these people to reach job quotas, and send them off to police us, we will have less opportunity to do whats obviously good. Personally i think all law (and bylaw) enforcement should have higher education (particularly arts and philosophy) subsidized or free.
Perhaps criminalising things "is" the better way to make our society so rigid it will collapse!. Criminilize nearly everyone and anyone else can be guards!
Right livelyhood is not about competing with current busness practises though, it just happens to make the other ways of livelyhood irrelevant, redundant, and too costly. Street artists improve their communities and are worth more than anybody could pay so donations by multiple individuals are the fair way. Please criminalise something else besides emerging art. People seem to have out evolved institutions, and some of us have already moved beyond apathy into fearless action and we will get recognition and money, if we are worth it to people.
Since a street artist can fulfil real needs more effectively and at no cost except completely voluntary donations ,why would we need a polititian to unsuccessfully perform simple community needs based tasks at inflated, unjustified costs when someone else can do it better and cheaper, and without elitism. But who am i to judge?
A sorceror really has no business in the up and down world of humans anyways!
